Support PAC Singers: Matching Donations Are Here

It’s almost the end of the year, and time for matching donations!

As a charitable fund of MCF, we are excited to participate again in their Charitable Match Program–and you can help! Your donation dollars do more for us from December 2nd – January 5th and we thank you for considering supporting us during this giving season at Papillion Area Community Singers – Donate Now. Learn more about how your donations support us during MCF’s Charitable Match Program here: https://midlandscommunity.org/match-program/.

We are proud to say that our choir does not charge our singers to participate and share our love of singing with the community. We also do not charge our audience to enjoy our music. We volunteer our time and talent for the enjoyment and benefit of our community. We think that’s what truly makes us a community choir.

What you may not know, is that we rely on donations from those who are able to give in order to keep operating. We try to make the most of those donations and spend them wisely to pay our talented director and accompanist, as well as purchase sheet music, concert props and audio equipment, print marketing materials, and make a small donation to St. Paul’s UMC to thank them for the use of their space. This year, we also applied for and received a $2,000 grant from Midlands Community Foundation to help us purchase music and build a library of sheet music for current and future concerts.

If you would like to donate to our organization and help us to continue building up our choir, this is a wonderful time to do that. Any donations made during this time, will help us earn a portion of the matching donations made to MCF. Last year, we received over $900 from matching donations during the Giving Program.

If you have enjoyed singing with us or attending any of our concerts, holiday sing-alongs, or community events and would like to help us to do even more, please consider donating during this time of MCF’s Matching Charitable Program from December 2 to January 5, 2026.

To donate online, visit: Papillion Area Community Singers – Donate Now. To be eligible for MCF matching dollars, donations must be made between Dec. 2 through Jan. 5.

If you’d like to donate via check, make your check payable to “Midlands Community Foundation” and on the information line of your check, be sure to note that it is for the PAC Singers Fund/MCF Matching Program. Mail your check to: MCF, 217 N. Jefferson St, Papillion, NE 68046. Please make sure the check is received by MCF by the deadline of January 5, 2026.

We love sharing music with our community, and hope you enjoy it, too! Thank you for all of your donations, whether it be in the form of money, time, talent, or all three! Have a wonderful holiday season, and a happy new year! We look forward to singing for (or with) you again next year.

Singing for the Blue Jays

Thursday, Nov. 20, PAC Singers helped start Creighton University’s Women’s Basketball game by singing the Star-Spangled Banner.

Many of us stuck around to cheer on the lady blue jays, and saw them build an early lead with 10 points ahead in the first half. It was an exciting second half, but their lead steadily diminished. As the game came to an end, Creighton Blue Jays missed their last shot as the final buzzer sounded. Northern Iowa beat Creighton Blue Jays by 1 point.

Executive Committee Changes

As PAC Singers finishes their third year, they say thank you and good luck to two of the original Executive Committee members Georgie Scurfield and Ken Molzer. They, along with Donna Gess, helped get this group off to a great start. Georgie will continue working on the Papillion Arts Foundation and Ken will continue as director of PAC Band, while Donna has agreed to stay on the committee for another term. We appreciate all the time and knowledge they gave to our group, and we hope to continue seeing them in musical adventures around Papillion.

Heather Aitken-Cade and Christine Cherney will be joining Donna Gess on the Executive Committee along with existing members Chuck Wilcox, Shannon Moudy, Carolyn Bestman, Cindy Mahanes, Kellie Peterson, and Tom Wyman.

PAC Singers Perform at Papillion Naturalization Ceremony

PAC Singers was honored to sing our national anthem and other patriotic favorites honor the 35 individuals who took the oath of United States citizenship on September 17, 2023. The historic Portal Schoolhouse in Papillion was an iconic backdrop for this important ceremony. We extend our warmest congratulations to these new citizens.
